who looked at you with butchers’ eyes.

Ecstatic to be emblazoned,
branded in smoking sparks of epithets,
Sobriquets of slavering flesh-lust.

Knowing they all longed to fleece you,
shear away your yielding purity
with coarse meat cutter’s hands,
to keep themselves warm.
